Events & Classes Listing Preview
Easily and quickly list your events, shows, quizzes, trivia nights and classes.
We are always looking for ways to make important website tasks easier to manage and if you are running events, classes or shows, what's more important than making sure your website displays the latest information. And, do it in a way that customers will love to interact with and makes it easy for them to click for more info or book & pay.
We call it the Event Preview Widget and, once set up on your site, important dates are easily managed on a Google Spreadsheet, from your PC, tablet or phone.
We control the colours, the format (see below) and the link can go to another page on your site, a ticket page or a form download if you prefer.
The Event Preview Widget can be displayed in grid format or slider format and tailored to look great on any size screen.
Setting up the widget
We do all this as part of the set-up but, for illustration purposes, here are some of the options we have to personalise the Events Preview Widget and help it blend in seamlessly with your website.
We can choose the font, font size and colour, overlay and background colours and the speed and size of the desktop slider. Here is also where we specify which Google Sheet the widget gets its data from.
And yes, you can have multiple instances of the widget looking at different Google Sheets on the same page!
The Google Spreadsheet
As part of the set-up we'll create a Google Spreadsheet for the Events Preview Widget and load it with the data you've given us. Then, all we need to do is create a short-cut to the spreadsheet on your PC or phone (or both) and before you know it, you are listing events like a boss!
The only 'techie' bit will be managing the images. These need to be uploaded to your CMS and then the link needs to be copied and pasted into the Google Sheet. But we'll provide all the training and once you've done it a couple of times, it becomes second nature. Or you can, of course, always ask us to do it for you (free of charge!) as part of your IWD Website Management package.
